<br />
Another hat...this time my own creation :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I came up with a simple pattern that fits my head really well. On Ravelry<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-knit-hat-3" target="_blank"> here</a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxFQOHiNXhBtwLXvKoknJCpEmTQSfcts7YnOM31FzPBIPJ0FhIUmN51Fo5ZN8usndzEQ1eB05_SMTQRz58pAE82vRpAiEPXPXPT9fFmP-ndIqviMVz-EBQ2WSNwxYbzDhIJYS6FRXxKo0/s1600/0207031013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxFQOHiNXhBtwLXvKoknJCpEmTQSfcts7YnOM31FzPBIPJ0FhIUmN51Fo5ZN8usndzEQ1eB05_SMTQRz58pAE82vRpAiEPXPXPT9fFmP-ndIqviMVz-EBQ2WSNwxYbzDhIJYS6FRXxKo0/s320/0207031013.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
then I charted a Mickey mouse silhouette using <a href="http://minifripperyetc.blogspot.com/2012/06/coolest-cross-stitch-discovery.html" target="_blank">pic2pat</a> and put it on the hat using the double knitting technique. The chart is also on Ravelry <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mickey-mouse-chart" target="_blank">here.</a> </div>

Last year I made a few things and I thought I'd post them here in summary. These aren't all of them but most of them. I didn't have pics of the other ones.</div>

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
I made a few <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/newborn-pumpkin-beanie">pumpkin beanies</a> for the kiddos. Super easy and cute. Not crocheted in the round.</div>

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

I made this <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/fast-easy-crochet-baby-blanket" target="_blank">Fast Easy Crochet Blanket</a> for Anna's baby. It lived up to it's name. I really liked this one.</div>

Made this cute little <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/snuttefiltar" target="_blank">Snutterfiltar</a> for Baby Oli for Christmas. So cute and easy but you'll need google translate for the pattern</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
Made this cute <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/chili-pepper-cocoon-and-matching-hat-set---photo-prop-or-costume---easy" target="_blank">ghostie cocoon</a> using the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chili-pepper-cocoon-and-matching-hat-set---photo-prop-or-costume---easy" target="_blank">Chili pepper</a> pattern. Just made the hat like the bottom of the cocoon and added my own embellishments. Sadly it was too small for the recipient by the time Halloween came.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
This is a bad picture but it's a really cool pattern but I'd do more contrasting colors next time.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
This is a <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/2-sided-baby-afghan" target="_blank">two-sided afghan</a>. </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
I love this <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/smock-stitch-baby-blanket" target="_blank">tunisian smock stitch blanket</a> (I love tunisian). I did a different border on this one than pictured that looked a lot better. </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<img class="photo_image" height="320" id="photo_image_26437005" src="http://images4.ravelrycache.com/uploads/thehatfam/122882872/document_upload32369-1_medium2.jpg" width="240" /> </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
This one is my favorite but it's still a WIP. It's the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/twin-leaf-baby-blanket" target="_blank">Twin Leaf Knit</a> blanket and it was my first big knitting project. It's not hard, it just takes longer than crochet.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
And then there are the many hats that I knit. I learned that knitting hats is a bit addicting for me.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/three-textured-baby-hats" target="_blank">English Diamond Hat</a> (not my favorite) </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/preemie-hats-for-charity" target="_blank">Preemie hats</a> (I made a ton of these and the heart one was my favorite baby hats so far, but they fit more a newborn size, not preemie, which was good for me) </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br />Crocheted this <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/woolly-owl-hat" target="_blank">Owl Hat</a> earlier in the year</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<img class="photo_image" height="320" id="photo_image_29078747" src="http://images4-b.ravelrycache.com/uploads/thehatfam/143239833/image_medium2.jpg" width="240" /> </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/thehatfam/easy-peasy-hat" target="_blank">Easy Peasy</a> hat. Even though this is by far the simplest, easiest hat to knit, I think it's really my favorite baby hat so far. I learned how to do the knitting magic loop on this one. It's a good one to learn on.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
so moral of the story is, I'm a craftaholic and am now addicted to knitting. I'm even starting another baby blanket (yes, before my other is finished). </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

So I saw this idea on Pinterest and loved it. You get cheap wood plaques from Hobby Lobby ($1-$2), paint them and then mod podge your pictures onto them. It's a permanent but fun way to display your pictures. So I did it with my favorite pictures and I think they turned out so cute! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I haven't hung them up yet so this is all I have to show for it. </div>

Ok, I'm going to rave for a minute- but <b>have you seen this site</b>?!?! It's called <a href="http://www.pic2pat.com/index.en.html">Pic 2 Pat </a>and thanks to a friendly ravelry member, I found it today and am instantly in LOVE! You all might think I'm crazy but I'm so excited about this. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So here's the deal, you go to the site, upload the picture you want to do and then you pick the size you want, the embroidery floss brand you like, how big the stitches will be.....and then it prepares everything for you! After you choose which picture you like best that they come up with (they have about 10 different versions), you download it to your computer and you get the picture, the full chart (including all the symbols), the embroidery floss colors needed and how many skeins you need of each color! (this is especially good for me cause I'm really not good with picking colors.) And the best part... it's FREE! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the one I did as a demo (I'm not really going to stitch it up) but think of the possibilities!</div>

Hi all! LONG time, no post. I have been crafting, but have also been incredibly lazy at documenting said crafting. Trying to be better. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Annette bequeathed me two darling dishtowels, one of this embroidered owl in a tea pot (don't ask me what he was doing there...) and a cute little Mexican girl wearing an over-sized sombrero doing the wash. I found a breezy tutorial on crochet top dishtowels, Pinned it and voila! I used left over cotton yarn and a button I had around. Took me 20 minutes, not including the pesky hemstitching I had to do to the top, by hand. >:-/ Wish I had a hemstitching machine. I love this style because you can hang it up on your oven door handle and you won't have dishtowels falling to the ground every time you dry your hands. Can't wait to start the other dishtowel!</div>

I finally finished a project I've been working on since December about a month ago, but just getting around to working on it. And since my playroom is actually clean at this very moment, I decided to take a picture and post.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivyCTOfuZESBa-7m3pisebuE0Yixfwl5wUhlvp1Qk7A_eJdgNHfCXPOkN8j1yIcUjKyeqsBA8VOjU0r9ENqnVJZ045pgMbVkU69mBLv7TLKHRfmpnc0REeHLaynfR8O3MbZSVgqLuSMbWa/s1600/GEDC0685.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivyCTOfuZESBa-7m3pisebuE0Yixfwl5wUhlvp1Qk7A_eJdgNHfCXPOkN8j1yIcUjKyeqsBA8VOjU0r9ENqnVJZ045pgMbVkU69mBLv7TLKHRfmpnc0REeHLaynfR8O3MbZSVgqLuSMbWa/s320/GEDC0685.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As part of my work with Lucy, I was helping to stage a home she was trying to sell. The owner wanted to get rid of this really tall bookshelf I told her I would take it, since I always have books that need shelves :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once I got it home, I decided I wanted to use it in my playroom, but thought it would be silly to have a bookshelf that the kiddo couldn't reach most of the things. So I lay it down on it's side. I used the anchor shelves and drilled holes using Jared's Dremmel tool. As you can see in this picture, I used a T-square and level to draw a straight line, then tried to drill in the middle of the line. </div>

P.S. The black and purple toy holders are from IKEA. The purple were four for 2 or 3 dollars, and the black ones from 2 a piece, I think. </div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7275823639981111818.post-20942096499291679012012-01-07T09:47:00.000-08:002013-01-08T19:40:57.340-08:00Afton's Afghan<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
---Revised---<br />
Jan. 8 2013<br />
<br />
I made a video tutorial and posted it on Youtube here<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7FIHaz9cvw&feature=youtu.be">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7FIHaz9cvw&feature=youtu.be</a><br />
<br />
It's my first video tutorial so be patient :)<br />
<br />
----Revised----<br />
Aug 28 2012<br />
<br />
<br />
This is the Blanket Grandma Turner (Tyson's Grandma) made for Afton when she was born. Since then I have been trying to figure out the patter because it's so amazing! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes, it would have been easier to just ask for the pattern but it was fun trying to figure it out on my own.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, I finally did it so I thought I would share because it really is one of the neatest patterns I have ever seen. It gives the afghan a 3D look and I love it. </div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyHg81Cr8oSkDEXTqLBciMrDGfqe1Ah_D7mFUnLeUVBbPDHdEdeYa_5joDSJjzoEvgQ2zu4LXQFOsxQziGHoaxRXB15v110OLDZa_nbpjpuYLZZsOmtk6u1pZFW2XpO_GRAUzZiQrab8E/s1600/IMG_4749.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5694975640018018834" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyHg81Cr8oSkDEXTqLBciMrDGfqe1Ah_D7mFUnLeUVBbPDHdEdeYa_5joDSJjzoEvgQ2zu4LXQFOsxQziGHoaxRXB15v110OLDZa_nbpjpuYLZZsOmtk6u1pZFW2XpO_GRAUzZiQrab8E/s320/IMG_4749.JPG" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></a><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I kind of came up with a pattern but it was kind of hard to explain so I decided to do a picture tutorial. (also, I always wanted to try a picture tutorial) It's not the best but here it goes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the actual pattern I came up with:<br />
<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">Here's the revised version to try and make it easier to follow</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

When making the next bpdc in the set of 3, do it the same way but make sure the second one goes <b>on top</b> of the first one, not beneath it. You'll get a totally different look if you do the dc under the previous one. </div>

These are the only ones I can post right now (in case the recipient would look on here)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The first one is a bear I made for Bailey for her birthday. Last year for his first birthday, I made him a scrapbook birthday frame. I used the theme from his birthday party and his party invitation to decorate these 12x12 wood frames. I loved it and so I just finished (er, 99.8% finished) his 2nd birthday frame. The Hobby Lobby and the Michaels here don't have the numbers that I used for his last frame :( I don't know where to find one. Keep your eyes out for a wooden 2 for me!</div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Remember how I used to make lots of things? It is a distant memory at this point, but I did do something!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI8D9Hi7fSbf71uJgffRElvibDKxTD_4Hqb6U40Q_f9BkanLkE6w8o_1Xlx_1weonJZK16TjGiep7wVflzE1owoEmBbzNwZcUUiCaK0ck_1NLmN7oT4rcZA6c9C58gQnWaPGmqYEmcd8A3/s1600/IMG_8836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI8D9Hi7fSbf71uJgffRElvibDKxTD_4Hqb6U40Q_f9BkanLkE6w8o_1Xlx_1weonJZK16TjGiep7wVflzE1owoEmBbzNwZcUUiCaK0ck_1NLmN7oT4rcZA6c9C58gQnWaPGmqYEmcd8A3/s320/IMG_8836.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>I made this baby boy quilt from his Daddy's old button up plaid shirts.<br />
<br />
I cut up the back piece into the biggest rectangle I could make and then cut it in half lengthwise. Then each was cut up into 3.5" strips and sewn together to make the columns. The sashing and backing was from a white sheet that we don't use anymore. The sashing was also 3.5". I machine quilted it with a walking foot-just a simple stitch in the ditch. For the binding, I pieced together different lengths of 3.5" width shirt fabric. If you cut up the very top of the back, right underneath the collar, the fabric is doubled, so you only have to cut once to get 2 pieces. <br />
<br />
Pretty simple, but with lots of significance for me and it was nice that it didn't cost anything :). I can't wait to use it when he gets here!coryshayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12893224670102853972noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7275823639981111818.post-49749409108322836222011-06-14T10:22:00.000-07:002011-06-14T12:55:51.218-07:00Newborn Hanging Nest<div style="text-align: center;">My SIL Celeste made a request that we figure out how to make these hanging hammocks and "potato sacs" that are SO DARLING in newborn shoots. Seriously, if you haven't seen them before google newborn hammock photo shoot or something cause they are the cutest!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs9yJJYlHu9fV5y-TPJCRQLK0OsZpBvRPitFk-_CLCMt2SZ-k389LrVXNNrYwK7nDxY4Pr4pPa5JqoUjBg8OalqCWWMqKLkhlXpy0Nv-m1HQoSo3P6yExmrFdqXKyjDxIcc2-Zso5cYII/s320/IMG_4014.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618128396319754354" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Anyway, so while we were in Boise with them, Celeste and I made up a pattern. The hammock didn't work out so well (I'm going to try again when I have more time) but the potato sac turned out good I thought. But to us it looked more like one of those round hanging bird's nests, so that what it's called. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://acrobat.com/#d=vJNylibJrEL3AaoR8GQOUA">Here's the pattern </a>I wrote out. It's my first pattern ever so if it doesn't make sense I'm sorry. Let me know what to fix so I can get better.</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj3FohEkIwaP8x_o3AMFYZuFuOASLT3LCUA6WcsT3dFDokNjThiYvHDf157b6seBym2MEjZywk2qD7j5kMAk4YDe4hUjGb9eouzF_Rd8t54ysI464DNDjE2YvgdoONXSwvRNJ3xYUd92s/s320/IMG_4016.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618128396408428194" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">I'm extrememly sad we didn't have an actual newborn to try this out on cause I'm not positive on the sizing but it's easy to make bigger if needs be.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">And it's really more fun to do photo shoots with a real baby instead of your two-year-old's baby doll.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg657u5PNxCvucf0uFX1sHypAbHFwYeI-8n3Yrpj7AIKETHibosUoofrzMFYt7a8Phsk94pkq0MmMGK8mHHlWqFmbMgkHHFFTysF6UvzP-fJ388ewYOctwBJ_uQwSHwHllkzb4NFmprOFI/s320/IMG_4018.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618128386641449218" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">So I thought it turned out fun and I want to do more designs with different stitches. And maybe embellish it with a ribbon or flower or something cute like that.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7275823639981111818.post-1093344005326021342011-06-06T20:12:00.000-07:002011-06-07T07:05:10.322-07:00Go Cubs<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I made this for Jason for his Birthday. I didn't know what I was going to make with it, but I had to have it so I just bought a yard. Then I got home to discover Gabe's grandma bought him a little table and chair from IKEA. So darling, but white, and he likes to eat at the table so it gets messy quick. It hit me then, a wipe down tablecloth! So I bought some 8 gauge vinyl at Joanns and made 2 fitted tablecloths. I made one of the cotton and one of the vinyl so that I can make more cotton tablecloths in the future and switch them out. I'm thinking about a tablecloth for every holiday... ambitious, I know. SO easy and so cute, if I say so myself :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ3o0W3JqlHPKZsihF5PVo7vdEBG8f2J5xPk8ihJrrsHumuxyrb2nIsxpw0OPk_ETVqtwwX9-sg651bpy3yJ59marBvOA_sDm-i2A_YwCjkjlbPwC5lgBt9O6F4y2gOeaQPWPb4iBBnR0/s1600/table3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ3o0W3JqlHPKZsihF5PVo7vdEBG8f2J5xPk8ihJrrsHumuxyrb2nIsxpw0OPk_ETVqtwwX9-sg651bpy3yJ59marBvOA_sDm-i2A_YwCjkjlbPwC5lgBt9O6F4y2gOeaQPWPb4iBBnR0/s320/table3.jpg" width="240" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeK_TMW1MYXydGD0K8dfRxeNFUgzLdalTaZ3u0TUK8jNS-ev3z_8z1OyV_1pRdH3gTLVj2XGiqIsePApk7dGOAezsz03bIAbsQ4-gsxa2L-fqO80L7Dlvtmgj1BhnjeQQ0i5Taktm0BPQ/s1600/table1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeK_TMW1MYXydGD0K8dfRxeNFUgzLdalTaZ3u0TUK8jNS-ev3z_8z1OyV_1pRdH3gTLVj2XGiqIsePApk7dGOAezsz03bIAbsQ4-gsxa2L-fqO80L7Dlvtmgj1BhnjeQQ0i5Taktm0BPQ/s320/table1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUiGjDj60D-55MBH8155iVD4_KCVg9Rz5nMumOsUqkex2AcCQ0_Mwg9dHWh3JmGm3barOnWus0066cedg-FsIV5xZJTfTkw0dEdr8YzeTQOC5qJBuDF0onb6w8-vv_ILF9sDMg1Dp314/s1600/table2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUiGjDj60D-55MBH8155iVD4_KCVg9Rz5nMumOsUqkex2AcCQ0_Mwg9dHWh3JmGm3barOnWus0066cedg-FsIV5xZJTfTkw0dEdr8YzeTQOC5qJBuDF0onb6w8-vv_ILF9sDMg1Dp314/s320/table2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Natchelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17766991019815503409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7275823639981111818.post-23997883827214497392011-02-14T20:17:00.000-08:002011-02-14T20:20:56.135-08:00Kindle Cover<div style="text-align: center;">I made Lexie a Kindle cover for her house-warming/going on tour/birthday present. I kind of just made the actual case up so I didn't have instructions. I embroidered the VanGuard symbol on it. It was a fun/frustrating project. It was fun doing it but it was frustrating it didn't turn out like I wanted. Oh well. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">It's funny, I started this about 6 months ago, came to a wall, where I COULD NOT understand what the pattern was saying, so I put it away. I brought it out a week or two ago and Voila! Miraculously, I understood. Once I got past that little bump in the road, this was a fairly easy project. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out for a beginner. I spend hours on Lion Brand yarn's website, pouring over patterns. It is very addicting. It's where I get most of my projects from. <a href="http://www.lionbrand.com/">Check it out!</a></div>Natchelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17766991019815503409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7275823639981111818.post-59666407500238010352010-08-11T10:32:00.001-07:002010-08-11T10:53:42.768-07:00New Whiteboard<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I've seen this Idea a couple of time and I really liked it so this time I decided to try it. Here is some more Freezer Paper Stenciling. I loved what Chelsea did with hers, so I decided to give it a try for my SIL's birthday coming up. I love all the numbers people have been using in decorating lately and how they put them in unexpected places, and I know my SIL has been into it as well, so I decided to do a number 5 pillow (she has 5 people in her family). A few people asked for more detail on how to use Freezer Paper for Stencils. There are tons of great tutorials online, so this is just the basics, but there really isn't much to it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOO0Bao_-ozdokUBAXKsBE5c6Uiyc7gYtanucmWh6DMWw5dK2_r4x6xoQzIRRB8zqL9syifs62ZsB1ll_e40rBW3eUGdycEfUylX_vAiDOZeTqlz4LSJmPHuZFX59t_rXu8NYVDvKw9tOF/s1600/IMG_7311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOO0Bao_-ozdokUBAXKsBE5c6Uiyc7gYtanucmWh6DMWw5dK2_r4x6xoQzIRRB8zqL9syifs62ZsB1ll_e40rBW3eUGdycEfUylX_vAiDOZeTqlz4LSJmPHuZFX59t_rXu8NYVDvKw9tOF/s320/IMG_7311.JPG" /></a></div>You can print right on Freezer Paper. I found that out after I printed it out on regular paper, cut it out, and then traced it onto the freezer paper, but either way works just fine. Just make sure you have the wax side down, paper side up. Cut out your stencil with an exacto or whatever you have handy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEL9nsQV6miUO9AS7mTAsgGxXpnbDOvUIkQnqwDOCNez_U7TjGoUfJAcPQo8_3m9ASky-bmf9bHwh2EuDNhHJFi6oGH1RSploYuqFMQDmkl1IUSdYWgb1rry6r5RyjJkSD7fTcQkwkHQ4S/s1600/IMG_7314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEL9nsQV6miUO9AS7mTAsgGxXpnbDOvUIkQnqwDOCNez_U7TjGoUfJAcPQo8_3m9ASky-bmf9bHwh2EuDNhHJFi6oGH1RSploYuqFMQDmkl1IUSdYWgb1rry6r5RyjJkSD7fTcQkwkHQ4S/s320/IMG_7314.jpg" /></a></div>Then you put your iron on the temperature it needs to be for the fabric you are using and iron the stencil on the right side of the fabric, and iron some more to the back side, so it can catch any leaking from the paint. Just remember that the wax side should be against the fabric. Press it on really well (don't iron, press). Then paint your fabric paint on and let it dry completely before you peel the freezer paper off. Then turn the fabric paint side down and press again so you can heat set the fabric paint. Then use it for whatever you want. In my case, I made a pillow with unbleached cotton.<br />
<br />
